New Flood Early Warning System installed in time for Tropical Cyclone Season in Ba

Ba Town is known to experience the worst floodings when cyclones hit.


Three Flood Early Warning Systems were installed within Ba in time for Tropical Cyclone season in the Fiji Islands.

They are said to be powered by both electricity and solar energy. It monitors the water level, when critical levels are reached, the siren is sounded.

It is also said to automatically let the Natural Disaster Management Office (NDMO) in Suva know when the three critical levels have been reached.
